our story
Welcome to Les ruches de Mamille, a beekeeping business born of the passion and commitment of one man, Rémi BLOND. Founded in September 2022, Les ruches de Mamille is much more than just a beekeeping operation. It’s the fruit of a singular journey, shaped by encounters, challenges and the desire to preserve nature.
Originally based in the Pyrénées Orientales, Rémi initially planned to go into poultry farming, but it was his arrival in the Charentes region in 2019 that marked a decisive turning point in his life. Settling in La Couronne, surrounded by unspoilt natural surroundings, Rémi quickly embraced the world of agriculture, working on a variety of farms, from vineyards to market gardening.
It was during these experiences that he discovered beekeeping. Trained by an experienced beekeeper and via a course at an apiary school, Rémi perfected his knowledge of the art of beekeeping. Initially intended for pollinating crops, his first hives quickly evolved into a professional beekeeping business.
In 2022, drawing on his experience and training, Rémi decided to take the plunge into professional beekeeping. Armed with a BPREA specialising in agriculture, he founded Les ruches de Mamille, a one-man business dedicated to the production of royal jelly, honey, pollen and, soon, bee bread.
Today, Les ruches de Mamille reflects Rémi’s commitment to beekeeping that respects the environment and biodiversity. Looking to the future with ambition, he plans to develop his business, in particular by acquiring land to rent out and by getting involved in educational and tourist projects around nature protection.
